How to keep them away without insecticides

Like every year, with the arrival of summer, also microscopic and unbearable mosquitoes return. To be exact, in our country, three are the most common mosquitoes: the Culex pipiens which prefer city environments and night hours, the Aedes caspius that prefer coastal and plain areas and Aedes albopictus better known as the Asian tiger mosquito and the most aggressive.

In Italian cities it is becoming common to practice implement measures of disinfection, which involve the use of poisons and chemicals, the effects of which also have an impact on the environment and, consequently, on animals and humans.

We reserve the right to suggest some effective remedies "non-invasive" against these dreaded insects:

1)  If possible, first of all, install mosquito nets on each window..

2)  Avoid standing water in the pots and, to prevent that mosquitoes nest on your balcony, test the technique of copper coin: you just insert one in each saucer to make the water where they usually lay the eggs, inhospitable.

Natural remedies against mosquito bites:3)  Onion and cloves, a mix of explosive odors. Simply leave at home a saucer with an onion and a few cloves to ward off those nasty insects. Similarly, it can be a useful remedy even a bowl of vinegar with a few slices of lemon.

4)  There are also several plants which can ward off mosquitoes, especially lemon grass, verbena, geraniums, basil, lavender and mint. How about trying to grow them in your garden or on the balcony?

5) Put the vinegar and a few slices of lemon in a bowl with a flat bottom, the mosquitoes will not approach

6) Finally, be aware that that the garlic, if grown in the garden, is not only effective against pests of plants, but it is also a great mosquito repellent, so try to ut some cloves in different corners of the house.

But if it is too late and the mosquitoes have already hit the mark, you can relieve the unbearable itching by applying on the affected area some honey, preferably eucalyptus.. Even the aloe vera proves to be effective, in leaves (to rub on bites) or even gel, to be bought in herbal medicine, so that even the swellings are mitigated.
