Where should a baby sleep?

Crib, cot or double bed: where should my child sleep

Crib, cot or big bed...

Widely debated, the issue was deepened by studies that have analyzed the pros and cons of each solution.

The cradle
The one has a soft pad and gently sways when moved . The site quimamme.leiweb.it reading the article Where should the baby sleep , gives an advice on how to facilitate the transition to the cradle. “To give to the baby a feeling of well-being is a good idea to wrap him in a warm, soft cover. You can start from now by putting a mommy’s shirt worn for a few days right next to him. In this way, in fact, the baby smells the breast scent that has always had a very soothing effect over him”.

From the cradle to the bed
Maybe after a few months is recommended, especially for the more lively ones to move to a bigger bed.
Also in this case it is necessary to take the precaution to lay near him a mommy’s shirt.
Above the bed it is recommended to hang a toy that moves: every time the baby wakes up he can have much fun watching it.

The question of the big bed
The article provides that "there are no absolute rules but one that must be followed without exceptions, to not open the door to endless problems: keep a consistent course of action, regardless of the choice made. If you accept the child in the big bed, in fact, you can not expect to impose occasionally a different habit. Even less can be expecting to be able one day to remove him from the conquered area, out of the blue and for always. It is therefore good to know in advance that, when you change your mind, you will definitely need to arm yourself with infinite patience to be able to make the change also for the child.
Similarly it is highly inadvisable to change from time to time (perhaps depending on your mood) the rule set out and adopted the 'everyone is sleeping in his bed'. Occasionally admit the child in Latvian, to let us sleep all night, it's wrong and destabilizing for the child.”
